Sudipta Nandi, 4/5
The preface of this book assures that the readers will have the opportunity to “pause, reflect, and insightfully apply” the lessons of the Biblical scriptures. As I go through the “reflection and application” of each of the 20 passages covered here, I feel Koh’s faith and devotion. Although the sequence of “prayer, reflection, and application” seems somewhat monotonous, the analyses of words, and meanings in different languages (Hebrew, Greek) maintain the engaging tone of the book. Contextually, “the word became flesh” analysis and a brief explanation of BC and AD divisions of calendars are significant. Such meaningful analyses lead us to an enriching journey until the end of the book. The applications of John 14:6 (NIV), the Greek word “monogenes”, the Oxymoron Samaritan story, and the prodigal son symbolism are excellent. However, I would like to know more about the root word (Hebrew) used to interpret the word “space-time continuum” in the “incarnation” chapter. The “Samaritan” story and its connection to “good neighbor” remind me of modern-day policies of diversity and inclusion.
Moreover, “the eternal life question” using “Luke 18:18-24” confirms that like power, wealth can be an entity to control our life. Here, I cannot resist quoting Koh’s “Salvation required a spiritual heart transplant”. Such a powerful insight in simple words. Koh continues to offer such powerful insights into the meaning of apokalypsis, imannuel, and the discussion on the “throne of David”, Jesus’ lineage, and the Greek meaning of Jesus. But, I think more explanation was required to analyze “the throne judgment”. The fulfillment of the “700 years old prophecy” and other 300 prophecies indicates the presence of an omnipotent god and the final chapters keep reminding the same. I love the explanation of the “perfect Christmas gift”, the interpretation of the gospels, and the linguistic conflicts of Loctus and Carob pod. Finally, the difference between natural and spiritual birth is discussed with clarity emphasizing faith and confession.
Overall, a great read irrespective of religion and is especially recommended to those who think it is time to pause and reflect.

My trip to Phnom Penh was fascinating, giving me a glimpse into Cambodia’s rich history and vibrant present. Nestled between Tonle Sap and Mekong Rivers, this city welcomed me with its blend of history, resilient spirits, and contemporary allure.
Killing Feilds and Genocide Museum
Exploring Phnom Penh began with an emotional visit to the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum – two sites that reflect Cambodia’s dark history during Khmer Rouge rule and where visitors should acknowledge and honor those impacted by those tragedies.
Architectural Charm
Phnom Penh’s architecture is an eye-catching mix of Khmer, French colonial, and modern styles. The Royal Palace and the nearby Silver Pagoda were both impressive in their own ways. The Royal Palace was grand, while the Silver Pagoda had a peaceful atmosphere with a golden Buddha statue.
Wandering Through an Engaging Cultural Palette
Exploring the lively streets and markets provided me with a stunning variety of culture. I experienced it at its best at Psar Thmei Central Market where local crafts and delectable treats awaited me. Along Riverside, there were plenty of dining options and a lively nightlife scene to keep me occupied.
Gastronomic Adventures
My taste buds experienced an explosion of flavor as I traveled through Cambodia. From street-side delights like Fish Amok and Nom Banh Chok to fine dining restaurants offering both Khmer and international cuisines, each meal was an exciting discovery!
Heartwarming Hospitality
One of the things that made my journey unforgettable was experiencing such warm hospitality from its people. Locals shared stories and customs, making me feel immersed in their culture and making this journey truly memorable.
Future Potentials
Phnom Penh is rapidly evolving into an advanced metropolis while maintaining its cultural roots. Now adorned with modern structures that exemplify progress while honoring historical landmarks.
Phnom Penh had much more to offer than just tourism.

Unveiling Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat is about 5 hours drive from Phnom Penh by car. The road access was easy to navigate and the views were scenic and panoramic.
Exploring Angkor Wat was like traveling back through time to an age-old world of beauty and wonder. As the sun rose, its golden rays lit up the temple, making its details stand out.
As I explored the temple complex, I was struck by its impressive ancient Khmer architecture. Towering spires reached upward towards heaven, while intricate carvings depicting gods and legends were incised onto walls lining each space.
Each corner was filled with unexpected surprises, and every corridor resounded with echoes from a bygone era. I found a beautiful oasis with peaceful reflection pools when I explored stone pathways. The aura of the place seemed almost magical.
When I got to the top of the central temple, I saw an amazing panoramic view of the vast temple complex.
I was amazed by the history and beauty of Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat was an amazing architectural feat and a testament to ancient civilization’s rich legacy.
As the day drew to an end, the sun dipped lower, leaving its warm light upon the ancient ruins of Angkor Wat. I waved farewell to its beauty and grandeur as its splendor faded from my memories.
