This love is gentle, never rude,
Its kindness clear in quiet mood.
It seeks not self, nor fleeting pleasure,
But clings to truth, its deepest treasure.
It stands for right, it shines in light,
A flame that rises through the night.
It bears all things, believes in grace,
And sees the good in every place.
Though now we see through glass unclear,
Love draws us close, and keeps us near.
It never fails, it never ends,
Through storms and time, it still defends.
Three gifts remain when all is done —
Faith and hope, and love hard-won.
But greatest still, from up above,
Is God’s own perfect, endless love.
