Salt and Light in the Daily Grind
Scripture
You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men. You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’ be hidden. Matthew 5:13-14
Reflection
A lot of people think that “spiritual service” is just about stuff that happens in a church, but really, God sees your job, your school, your family, and your interactions in the community as the real places for doing His work. Just like how salt doesn’t really do its job unless it’s taken out of the shaker and sprinkled on food, you also need to get involved in your community. .
When you stick to your Christian values in a world that doesn’t always get it or show real kindness when things get tough, you’re being the “salt” of the world. When you stick to your Christian values and show kindness and support to those around you, you’re also showing what it means to be “salt” of the world.
When you decide to stay hopeful and optimistic, especially when things around you seem pretty tough, you shine the light of Christ into the darkness. The way you live your life reflects the light about God to others, especially to those who may never step foot into a church or take part in regular services..
Your Christian values may just spark curiosity in non-believers and get them interested in Christianity. By living out your Christian values, you create a powerful testimony that will resonate with many.
Some folks may not pick up a Bible, but they’re watching you instead. You’re like a living story of faith and love for them. You’re like a living and walking version of the Bible. As a Christian, non-believers are always checking out how you act and what you do.
Story
The story behind I have decided to follow Jesus.
This hymn shares a really touching story about martyrdom that’s been shared through different missionary stories over time. In this heartfelt tale, there’s a Garo convert named Nokseng who had to make a tough choice when the village chief told him to give up his faith or die a terrible death. During a really brave moment, when the chief told his archers to take aim at Nokseng’s two sons, he didn’t flinch at all. He stood firm and said, I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back. Later his wife and was killed and finally, he was also killed. This story highlights what faith and sacrifice can mean, even in the face of unimaginable hardship. This song has since become the theme song for ‘evangelism explosion.
Prayer
Father, Today, I ask for strength to be both tough and positive, so I can handle whatever challenges come my way with grace. I really hope that my cheerful vibe, especially at work, combined with genuine kindness to people I don’t know, can be like a light that draws others to Your amazing goodness and love.
My goal is to be a true reflection of Your light, inspiring those around me through my words and actions. I’m all about spreading Your light and making sure everyone I come across feels a little brighter today. I
I want to share Your grace with everyone I connect with, lifting their spirits along the way. With each conversation I have today, my goal is to shine Your light and spread Your grace to everyone I find myself with.
Today, I’m focused on reflecting Your kindness in every interaction and lifting the mood of those around me. Help me be the salt and light of the world through my Christian influence, life style, and testimony. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Dr. Koh has an eye opening way to bring you closer to Bible and following Christ. For many years because of person experience in my life I wasn’t sure if Christ loved me, cared about me, or if he was even real. Then I found this book on a different blog and decided to read it. It says 33 days but honestly it’s kinda hard to stop reading the powerful things being said. It really made me think about things differently. Thank you Dr. Koh. (1 out of 101Amazon Reviews.
