Walking in God’s Love

A Father’s Day message

💬 A Personal Note

Hello friends,

As we move through this season of the year, I’ve been reflecting on how quickly time passes and how important it is to walk closely with God each day. Life often brings unexpected changes, challenges, and quiet moments of reflection. Yet through it all, God remains faithful.

With Father’s Day approaching in a couple of weeks, many of us are thinking about the people who have guided, encouraged, and supported us throughout our lives. Some may be celebrating joyful memories, while others may quietly miss loved ones who are no longer with them. Whatever season you are in, I pray that you will experience the loving presence of our Heavenly Father in a fresh and meaningful way.

God’s love is steady, compassionate, and unchanging. Even when the road ahead feels uncertain, we can trust Him to guide each step.

📖 Scripture Reflection

“The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.” Proverbs 20:7

Integrity may not always attract attention in today’s world, but it has lasting value in God’s eyes. A life built on faithfulness, honesty, and compassion leaves a powerful legacy.

Sometimes we underestimate the influence of simple daily actions, a kind word, a prayer for someone, an encouraging message, or a quiet act of love. Yet these small moments can deeply impact the lives of others.

God calls us not to perfection, but to faithfulness. As we continue our spiritual journey, may we walk humbly with Him and reflect His goodness wherever we go.

Each step of obedience, no matter how small, matters in God’s Kingdom.

📖 Story Corner

A young violinist once played in a crowded town square. He performed beautifully, but most people hurried past without stopping. After a while, he became discouraged and thought about putting his violin away.

Then he noticed an elderly man sitting quietly on a bench nearby, smiling warmly and listening to every note. When the song ended, the old man applauded and said, “Never stop playing. Even when it feels like no one notices, your music still touches hearts.”

Years later, the violinist became a well-known musician. In an interview, he shared that he almost gave up that day in the town square. But one person’s encouragement gave him the strength to continue.

Sometimes we underestimate the impact of our small acts of faithfulness, kindness, and perseverance. God often uses quiet moments and simple encouragement to change someone’s life in ways we may never fully realize.

Almost as good as being there, but without the expense and bother.

Yes, I’ve been there myself. So, I can certify that this excellent account of traveling through the Holy Land is accurate and rich in impactful details.

I particularly liked the following aspects of this well-written, well-organized travelogue: the personal vivid photography displayed in each section; the helpful and important “tips” for if one is actually traveling to that location; the “historical” sections that tie the location not just to the Bible but to the sweep of mankind’s existence; the poetry of the author interspersed throughout; and the personal reactions of a devout Christian walking where Jesus physically stepped.

Also, I quite enjoyed rekindling my own memories from the 1970’s when I traveled there while on leave stationed in Europe in the U.S. Air Force. This book brought back powerful emotions when it described the Jorden River, the Mount of Olives, riding ornery camels, the bizarre Dead Sea, the Sea of Galilee, the Qumran Caves, Church of the Nativity, and (of course) Golgotha.

My past journey was perilous as it was right after a war between Israel and Egypt, but I was young and brave. Today, with all the tensions and conflicts continuing there, I’d be hesitant to go back as an older person. Also, a tour there would likely cost a huge amount of money, time, and bother. This excellent book is almost as good as being there but without the big cost in money, time, trouble, and danger. For anyone who wished they could physically go to the holy and spectacular places of the Bible, walk where Jesus walked, this fine book is the next best thing. Highly recommended!

✍️ Author Life

Recently, I’ve been reminded that creativity is not only about inspiration but also about perseverance. Whether writing books, composing songs, or preparing devotionals, meaningful work often grows slowly over time.

Some days are productive and exciting. Other days require patience and discipline. But I have learned that even small consistent steps eventually produce lasting fruit.

I remain grateful for every opportunity God gives me to encourage others through writing and music. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.

🙏 A Prayer for You

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your faithful love and constant presence in our lives. I pray for every reader today. Strengthen those who feel weary, encourage those who feel discouraged, and guide those seeking direction.

Fill each heart with peace, renewed hope, and deeper trust in You. Help us to walk faithfully each day, knowing that You are leading us even when we cannot see the entire path ahead.

May Your grace surround every family and every home with comfort, wisdom, and joy.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Importance of Church Fellowship

Not Forsaking the Gathering

Scripture

Not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25

Reflection

With everything going on in your hectic life, it’s super easy for going to church to feel like just another thing you have to tick off in your to-do list. Almost like it’s more of a chore than something you really need to do. But really, “assembling together” is more than just showing up in a church service on Sunday. It’s about forming a genuine spiritual bond and lifting each other up in faith. “Exhorting” really just means encouraging each other in the faith and strength as you deal with all the tough stuff life brings your way.

When you choose to show up at church, it’s not just about listening to the sermon. Your being there really lifts up others and shows them you are together with them. It’s just a sweet reminder that you don’t have to face your struggles all on your own. The God you trust is so much greater than any challenges or difficulties you might encounter in your life.

No matter how tough the situation may seem, remember that His power and love far outweigh any trials you face. His strength can help you overcome obstacles that appear insurmountable. Trusting in Him provides you with the assurance that you are never alone in facing the tough stuff.

Church gatherings serve as a vital form of fellowship among believers. In the Christian faith, it’s really important to get involved in worship, connect with others through fellowship, grow spiritually by praying, learning, and sharing the Gospel through evangelism.

No one can really go it alone, and that’s why having a solid community and good connections is so important. You definitely need the steady support of your church friends to really grow in your spiritual journey. Just like iron sharpens iron, like I mentioned in an earlier lesson, the connections you build in the church can really boost your faith and help us grow in maturity.

When you come together in fellowship, you get support, stay accountable, and find strength in numbers. These things are super important for your well-being and help you grow spiritually. Ultimately, being part of a church community enriches your life and helps you stay in the right path.

Meditation

Togetherness.

When you think about the word “together,” it really brings to mind a strong feeling of connection and the cool experiences we share that make us feel closer. It shows how coming together builds strength through friendship and support, helping you face both happy and challenging times with others. This idea highlights how your life is enriched by collaboration and companionship. You will find greater meaning in life when you share it with others.

“Together” is such a heartfelt reminder of how important relationships are and the support you get from being in a community. It’s comforting to realize that you’ll always have a seat at God’s table, and this is such a warm thought. It really shows that you belong and people care about you and support you. You have a special place in God’s family of believers.

When you feel united and have a common goal, it really helps you connect with others on a deeper level. It strengthens your relationships and lifts up your spirit. In the end, the idea of being together shows how believing in God and having strong bonds with others can really make life feel rich and fulfilling.

It highlights how crucial it is to create and take care of relationships that lift you up and help you out, building a community vibe that makes everyone feel better. This shared vibe helps you remember you are not on this journey by yourself. When you share your experiences and support others, you will find meaning and happiness in life. Togetherness is therefore not just a concept, but a valuable practice that profoundly shapes your existence.

Having this kind of confidence can turn into a powerful strength, giving you the courage to deal with whatever life throws at you. Just remember, you’re not alone in your challenges, and there’s always

A Spiritual Reflection on the Body of Christ

The Body of Christ

Scripture

For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. 1 Corinthians 12:12.

Reflection

Think about all the different parts that make up your body. An eye does a totally different job than a foot, but both are super important for how the body works as a whole. It’s kind of the same when you join a church. You’re not just joining a group. You’re becoming an important part of a living, breathing entity.

Every person brings their own views, experiences, and heart that can’t be replaced. So don’t stress about fitting in with everyone else in the pews. Your uniqueness is what makes you valuable. Everyone is linked by the same Holy Spirit, and it’s super important that you lean on others to really know what God’s love is all about.

If the hand decided to say to the feet that they don’t really matter, the whole body would really struggle to function properly. Just imagine if the eye went around saying it was more valuable than the ears; the whole body would still struggle to function properly. It’s clear that every single part of the body is integral, relying on one another for optimal performance and health. Ultimately, this interdependence highlights how teamwork among all body parts is essential for proper operation.

Every believer has a special role in the body of Christ, bringing their own gifts and talents to the table, and everyone’s contribution matters in the bigger picture of the church. Every single person in the body, no matter what they’re up to, helps build that feeling of togetherness and purpose.

Christ is the head of the church, which is also called the body of Christ. Just like your brain tells your body how to move, Christ is the one who guides and leads the church. The church works together as one big team under His direction, so His role is super important to your faith. In a nutshell, Christ is a big part of who the church is and what it’s meant to do.

To say it differently, 1 Peter 2:4-6 explains that Christ is the living cornerstone, (head) and believers are the living stones (parts) that come together to build God’s Holy temple (Church or body of Christ).

Life Application

So this week, I want to challenge you to spend some time just looking around and thinking about how you can make a difference! Try and find a cool way to help someone out or give them a little boost in your church or community. Just keep in mind that even little gestures, like a smile or a helping hand, can greatly touch someone else’s life, creating waves of kindness that go far beyond the moment.

Why not think about giving someone a hand if you know they’re going through a tough time? Just a little kindness can go a long way in bringing you closer to your community. This is a great opportunity to really connect with others. Caring for others is really important, and it can show up in so many ways, especially when someone’s having a good time or going through tough stuff.

When it comes to celebrating successes or being there for someone when things get tough, getting together to lift each other up really says a lot. Doing little random acts of kindness and being thoughtful can really make a difference. They help spread good vibes in your own life and throughout the community. By embodying this spirit, you can foster a culture of compassion that benefits everyone involved.

The Power of Grace in Daily Life

Grace: God’s Riches at Christs’s Expense

Grace, defined as God’s love and mercy, is a transformative gift that saves us and strengthens our daily lives. The story of Daniel illustrates this, as he learns that acceptance comes not from perfection but from grace. Embracing this concept leads to peace and encourages us to extend grace to others.

“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

Grace is a wonderful gift from God, showing His love and mercy. We are saved not by our actions, but by His deep and constant love for us. Grace not only saves us from our shortcomings but also helps us navigate life’s challenges and strengthens our daily walk with Him. It reminds us how fortunate we are to receive blessings we could never achieve on our own.

A Story of Grace

There was a young man named Daniel who dedicated himself tirelessly to earning love and acceptance. He believed that through hard work, discipline, and a flawless record, he could achieve what he so deeply craved. Yet, despite his numerous accomplishments, he always felt inadequate.

One fateful day, Daniel accidentally damaged an expensive piece of equipment at work, leading him to fear for his job. As his boss summoned him to the office, Daniel’s heart sank with shame, anticipating the punishment he felt he deserved.

To his astonishment, his boss spoke gently, “Daniel, I understand this was unintentional. Yes, there is a cost, but I’m willing to cover it for you. Learn from this but don’t let it define who you are. Keep pushing forward.”

At that moment, Daniel was transformed. What he expected to be a moment of judgment turned into a demonstration of mercy. He realized that, just as his boss had shown him grace, God had been offering him the same kindness based on love rather than his performance.

Living in Grace

In his struggles, Paul was reminded of the profound truth that God’s grace was sufficient. Even amid weakness, trials, and feelings of unworthiness, we are enveloped by His grace. We are not required to achieve perfection or toil to deserve His love. Grace signifies that God meets us in our current state, generously offering His presence, strength, and forgiveness.

Grasping the meaning of grace transforms our perspective on ourselves and others. Rather than striving to be “good enough,” we find peace in the realization that God’s grace alone is sufficient. Rather than holding onto grudges, we choose to show grace to those who have wronged us, reflecting the grace that Christ offers.

Reflection Questions:

Can you recall a time when you received grace instead of punishment?

How has God’s grace shaped your life and your faith?

In what ways can you extend grace to someone who may not deserve it?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for Your incredible and unmerited grace that is poured out upon us daily. We realize that we are unworthy and undeserving, yet You give it to us freely. In moments when we feel weak and overwhelmed by our shortcomings, help us to find solace and strength in Your grace. Help us to treat others with the kindness and compassion that You have shown to us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The Good Shepherd: A Call to Return

Devotion: The Joy of Salvation

This devotion emphasizes God’s unwavering love and pursuit of those who feel lost, illustrated by a parable of a shepherd seeking a lost sheep. It encourages spiritual connection through prayer and sharing the gospel. A heartfelt invitation to accept Jesus and find solace in His embrace underscores the promise of salvation and belonging.

Bible Verse: Luke 15:4-7 (NIV)

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

Reflection:

This passage shows how much God cares—portraying Him as a loving shepherd who always looks for those who are lost and never gives up on them, no matter what. It highlights God’s deep care for each of us and the joy in heaven when a single sinner decides to return to Him. Jesus is always ready to welcome us back, no matter how far we’ve wandered from the right path. Ultimately, this message serves as a reminder of the boundless grace and forgiveness available to all who seek Him!

Illustrative Story:

A young boy named Daniel was enjoying a day at the park when he strayed too far and found himself lost. A wave of panic washed over him as he realized he didn’t know how to return. Meanwhile, his father searched relentlessly, calling out his name at every turn. At last, Daniel caught the familiar sound of his father’s voice, and tears of relief filled his eyes as he dashed into his father’s warm embrace.

Like Daniel’s father, who never gave up searching for his son, God also pursues each of us with unwavering devotion. Regardless of how lost or broken we feel, His love is always present, inviting us to return to His comforting embrace. Each moment of doubt or despair is met with His gentle reminders that we are cherished and valued beyond measure. In this ceaseless pursuit, we find hope and the promise of a way back home.

Application:

When you feel lost or distant spiritually, remember that His constant love is always there to help you find your way home, no matter how far you think you’ve gone. Daily prayer can strengthen your relationship with the Lord and offer you wisdom and guidance during tough times. It’s vital to share the gospel with those facing struggles, as everyone deserves to feel God’s love and forgiveness. Sharing the gospel uplifts others and brings hope to those in need.

Evangelistic Challenge:

Are you feeling lost in this world, desperately searching for your true purpose, or perhaps longing for a sense of peace in your life? Jesus is waiting with open arms, calling you home to Him. He gave His life for your sins, defeated death by rising again, and now offers you a new life filled with hope and joy. Today is a great chance to experience salvation by opening your heart to Him and letting His love fill the emptiness inside you.

Altar Call:

Right now, Jesus is warmly inviting you to embrace Him and find solace in His arms. If you sense His gentle call beckoning you, I urge you not to dismiss it or turn away. The Good Shepherd is actively searching for you, eagerly awaiting the moment He can rejoice over your return to Him. So, take a step of faith and come to Him today, allowing His love to envelop you completely!

Salvation Prayer:

If you’re ready to accept Jesus as your Savior, pray this from your heart:

“Lord Jesus, I confessed that I have sinned and wandered away from You. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again to give me eternal life. Today, I turn to You, asking for forgiveness and surrendering my life to You. Please come into my heart, be my Lord and Savior, and guide me in Your truth. Thank You for loving me and for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer, welcome to God’s family! Heaven is rejoicing over you. Find a Bible-believing church, grow in His Word, and seek fellowship with other believers. If you need guidance, I’d love to help. Reach out and let’s walk this journey together!
