Happy New Year, everyone!

Thank God for another year. Isn’t it incredible how swiftly time moves? It feels like we were just ushering in 2024, and now we find ourselves immersed in 2025! The rapid passage of a year is truly astounding, especially one that has brought its share of challenges and victories. As we enter the new year, I want to thank you for your continued support. I also want to ponder over our shared journey.

This past year has been very busy for me. I owe it all to you—my readers, supporters, and friends. You have cheered me on throughout this journey. Writing and publishing offer many challenges. Yet, creating and sharing my work with you brings joy. That joy makes it all worthwhile.

Publishing Milestones

This year, I realized my dream of publishing seven new books! I published two fictional short stories. I have also published two memoirs, one travel narrative, and one poetry collection. I edited a unique anthology where I also contributed as an author. This exhilarating journey has challenged and expanded my creative horizons across diverse genres.

Award and Challenges

Receiving the Malaysian Book of Records award for Most Published Author of the Year 2021 was a highlight for me. I received it early in the year. This honor was incredibly humbling and would not have been achievable without your unwavering support and enthusiasm for my work. I am profoundly grateful to everyone who has believed in me and my writing journey.

As the year came to an end, I faced a formidable personal challenge: a major hip replacement surgery. This journey tested my physical and emotional strength, but I’m glad to say I’m recovering. This experience has profoundly shifted my outlook on life, serving as a compelling reminder of God’s unwavering love and faithfulness. I am now more motivated than ever to chase my passions for many years ahead.

In the middle of 2024, I encountered an unforeseen challenge when my Amazon account was abruptly terminated. As a writer and self-publisher, Amazon is crucial for reaching my audience, so this situation is both surprising and disappointing. I’m happy to report that my account was reinstated by the end of the year. This was due to consistent communication and persistent effort to resolve the issues. This challenging incident highlighted the vital role of resilience, patience, and God’s answer to prayers..

Hip Replacement Journey: From Fall to Gratitude

The fall

On July 27th, I fell in my garden and hurt my left leg badly. It was very painful to move after that. Because of the severity of my injury, I couldn’t get up by myself. My son had to delicately help me in getting into the car, employing careful maneuvering.

Diagnosis

My leg felt continued to be very painful until we got to a private hospital’s accident and emergency department. A medical doctor quickly examined me. An X-ray showed that my left femur was fractured at the neck. An orthopedic surgeon was called in right away because it was a serious injury. Based on the X-rays and my condition, the doctor recommended a left hip hemiarthroplasty surgery (hip replacement). He scheduled the surgery as an emergency case.

Surgery

The surgery was successful. I am happy to say that the severe pain I was feeling had improved a lot. It was a huge improvement from how unbearable life was before the operation. Two days after my surgery, I started walking again with a walking frame under the supervision of a physiotherapist. I made good progress in just a few days. I was released from the hospital after only one week to recover at home.

Thank God with a grateful heart

I am very thankful to God for His endless mercy. I am grateful for His constant grace and strong protection through the whole difficult experience. This includes the fall, the surgery, and even during the recovery. I humbly express my deepest appreciation to the Almighty for bestowing upon me such immense blessings.

Forever grateful

I want to thank the surgeon, anesthetist, and the whole medical team for taking care of me. Their unrivaled ability, skill, and dedication have played an integral role in successfully guiding me through this difficult journey.

I am very grateful for the outstanding care from the hospital staff, nursing team, and paramedical staff. They dedicated themselves to doing their best. They worked tirelessly. This has made a huge difference in my recovery. It gave me peace and comfort when I needed it.

I am eternally indebted to all those who have played a part in my healing process. Their compassion and ability continue to touch the lives of many others, as it has undeniably touched mine.
