Romans, Lesson 20

Lesson 20

R

omans 8: 28-30, the pinnacle of Romans

The climax, highest point, or pinnacle of the Book of Romans is Romans 8:28.

V 28, And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

We know for certain that God will make everything work together in unison for the good of a Christian according to His purpose. God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He arranges and rearranges all of life’s events behind the scenes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to ensure a good final outcome for us. When we looked back at life’s events after many years, we will see God’s hands of providence at work. All coincidences are God’s incidences. This is a memory verse and a conditional promise to claim. The recipients of this promise are Christians, who are called by God according to His purpose

2 Peter 5:7, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you”.

Romans 8:38, ”in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”.

Proverbs 3:5, ”trust in the Lord your God with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding”.

Genesis 50:20, ”But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive

VV 29-30, 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.

God foreknew, predestined, and conform us to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. He predestined, called, justified, and glorified us. He had us covered from eternity past to eternity future. In eternity past, he foreknew and predestined us. At the present time, He called and justified us. In eternity future He will resurrect and glorify us.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we claim the promise of Romans 8:28, that all things work together for good to those who loved you and are called according to Your purpose. If You are working for us, then we have absolutely nothing to fear, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
