Lesson 22
R
omans 8: 35-39, I have loved you with an everlasting Love
VV 35-39, 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written: ‘’For Your sake, we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
V 35, Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Nothing! Tribulations, distress, persecutions, famine, nakedness, peril, sword, death, or life, angels, principalities, powers, present life events, future life events, heights, depths, or any other created things shall not be able to separate us from the love of God and Christ Jesus. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. He loved us into eternity with an everlasting love.
Jeremiah 31:3, ”I have loved you with an everlasting love”.
Paul quoted Psalm 44:22, ”Yet for Your sake, we are killed all day long, we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter”.
V 37, Yet in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Greek for more than a conqueror is “Huper-Nikao” which means a super conqueror. We can overcome all these things only if we surrender them to Jesus Christ, our super conqueror.
2 Cor 4:17, ”For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory”.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, we claim the promise that You loved us with an everlasting love. We claim the promise that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
