Bible College of New Zealand

I attended the Bible College of New Zealand in Auckland from 1999 to 2002. I pursued a postgraduate diploma in Theology. Strong faith and a wish to learn drove this important decision. These motivations led me to explore the realm of theology and spirituality. I didn’t realize how much this experience would change my perspectives, values, and understanding of myself and the world.

The campus was lively, especially among the Asian community, who thrived in the energetic atmosphere. Every corner buzzed with lively conversations in a mix of languages, discussing theology, culture, and the complexities of life. The diverse students from around the world added a unique richness to the experience, offering a variety of perspectives. It started as just a study space. It evolved into a lively mix of global beliefs. It also reflected shared human experiences.

Mornings began with prayer meetings in the peaceful chapel. People came together to unite their diverse traditions and backgrounds for a common purpose. These gatherings not only set a reflective tone for the day but cultivated a sense of community among us. The lectures built on a spiritual foundation. They were intellectually challenging and explored biblical exegesis, church history, mission, pastoral care, spiritual formation, and systematic theology in depth. The professors and lecturers were experienced scholars and passionate educators who encouraged critical thinking and expanded our understanding.

Assignments were central to my studies, each offering a unique challenge to explore scripture and its profound truths. In this endeavor, the library quickly transformed into my second home, a sanctuary of knowledge and inspiration. I was surrounded by tall bookshelves filled with valuable ancient commentaries, thoughtful theological journals, and essential reference materials. Days blurred together as I spent hours studying, crafting essay ideas, and preparing for exams.

Despite the demanding academic environment, the surrounding community was lively and welcoming. The Asian students took the initiative to organize potluck dinners, showcasing delightful flavors and dishes from their homelands. We enjoyed spicy curries, savory dumplings, and fragrant rice dishes. We sat around the table. We shared heartfelt stories about our countries and cultures. We also talked about how God had uniquely guided each of us on this journey. This experience created strong bonds that overcame language barriers and built lasting friendships, enriching our lives long after college.

Occasionally, there were moments of struggle that felt almost insurmountable. Late nights grappling with tough theological ideas left me exhausted. The stress of looming deadlines made me feel homesick. Yet, through all these challenges, there emerged a profound sense of purpose that fueled my journey. The knowledge I gained during this time was not merely academic. The experience was transformative and life changing. Every lecture, workshop, tutorial, discussion, and assignment deepened my understanding of God’s word. They revealed its practical applications in my life and ministry goals.

Graduation day in 2002 proved to be a truly bittersweet moment, encapsulating years of hard work and dedication. Wearing my cap and robe and proudly holding my diploma, I looked out at the familiar faces. My professors, lecturers, tutors, classmates, family, and friends who had supported me throughout my journey. The students came from different places, each with their own unique stories. Now, as they face new beginnings, they were ready to live out their faith in meaningful ways.

This day was a poignant reminder of the achievements behind me and the exciting challenges that lay ahead. Those three formative years at Bible College were not just about the attainment of a diploma. They were an important journey that prepared me for a greater purpose in the future. During this time, I faced many enriching and challenging situations that significantly shaped my character, beliefs, and spiritual growth. This unique journey had valuable experiences and friendships. It is an unforgettable part of my life. It continues to inspire me daily.

The lessons and strong relationships I built during my early years have greatly shaped my personal and professional life. These experiences have shaped my perspectives and decisions, leaving an indelible mark on my path ahead. I often think about the relationships and knowledge I gained, appreciating their lasting impact on who I am today. The significance of those moments continues to resonate with me as I navigate the future.

40 Books, 40 Blessings

One page at a time

Introduction

I want to share with you a remarkable milestone in my life’s journey—the joy of crafting 40 Christian non-fiction books. I am grateful for the journey that brought me to this achievement.

The Beginning

I started my journey as a Christian author with a simple idea and a strong desire to share God’s Word. I have written various forms of Christian literature over the years, such as novellas, commentaries, Bible study guides, and devotionals. These books have been my way of reaching out to a world hungry for spiritual nourishment.

Bestsellers and Beyond

I never expected that 16 of my books would become “Amazon bestsellers”. Each time my work was ranked as a bestseller, it not only acknowledged my efforts but also highlighted the strong desire for spiritual truth in our world today.

Surpassing Sales Milestones

The journey also took me to incredible sales milestones. Four of my books have surpassed 3,000 copies sold, reflecting the hunger for faith-based content in today’s readers. Six books have exceeded 2,000 copies sold, and an additional six have reached the 1,000-copies-sold mark. These numbers are more than statistics; they are testimonies to the impact of God’s Word and the power of storytelling.

Giving Glory to God

At this moment of reflection, I want to give all glory to God. It is through His grace and inspiration that I have been able to write these books. Each word, each story, and each message is a testament to His presence in my life.

Thank You Dear Readers

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all my readers, from across the globe and far and wide. Your support, encouragement, and hunger for spiritual growth have been my driving force. You have made this journey worthwhile, and I am deeply grateful.

Conclusion

I am celebrating a great achievement of writing 40 Christian non-fiction books. This milestone reminds me of a meaningful verse from the Bible, Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” With Christ as my guide and source of strength, I look forward to continuing this journey of faith and writing, knowing that there are many more stories to tell and hearts to touch.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey. May God’s blessings continue to abound in your lives.

From Free-Thinker to Faith-Believer

Introduction:

Join me as I revisit a pivotal chapter in my life—a journey that took me from being a free-thinking skeptic to a firm believer in faith. Born and raised in the quaint town of Tanjong Malim, Malaysia, my story is one of transformation, resilience, and the undeniable power of God’s grace.

A Carefree Upbringing

Reflecting on my early years, I recount a life free from religious beliefs, despite my parents’ adherence to Taoist practices and ancestral worship. From my primary school days to my upper six grades, I proudly identified as a “free-thinker,” untouched by the concepts of God or faith-based practices.

A Glimpse of Light

The winds of change began to blow when I entered the University of Malaya in 1972. Through the Varsity Christian Fellowship, I was introduced to Christianity—a faith that was foreign to me until then. Bible studies, Christian fellowships, and church retreats paved the way for a newfound understanding of spirituality.

Embracing the Gospel

In the midst of life’s challenges, I encountered the Gospel once again. The message of Jesus as God in human form and His selfless sacrifice resonated deeply within me. With a heartfelt prayer, I made the life-altering decision to accept Jesus as my Savior and Lord—an unwavering commitment that would reshape my life.

A Transformed Life

The transformation that followed was nothing short of miraculous. Christianity brought me an inner peace and purpose I had never experienced before. Gratitude, humility, and contentment became my companions, leading me to focus on God and others. Through the ups and downs, my trust in Jesus grew, guiding me through life’s challenges.

Triumph Over Adversity

In a chilling December of 2019, a life-altering accident left me paralyzed. But through God’s mercy and grace, I defied the odds and fully recovered, confounding expectations. This profound experience solidified my faith in Jesus, igniting a deeper sense of gratitude for His unwavering presence in my life.

Witnesses of His Transformative Power

As I conclude this journey through my testimony, I invite you to witness the transformative power of faith in action. From a skeptical free-thinker to a faithful believer, my story is a testament to the remarkable changes that can occur when we open our hearts to God’s grace. Join me in embracing the journey, and may you find inspiration in the boundless possibilities of faith.
